Kadai Paneer is a popular Indian vegetarian dish that is made with paneer (cottage cheese), bell peppers, onions, and a spicy tomato-based gravy.
Kadai Paneer Recipe
Ingredients:
- 250 grams paneer, cubed
- 2 medium-sized onions, finely chopped
- 2 medium-sized tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chillies, finely chopped
- 1 capsicum, cubed
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
- 1 teaspoon kasuri methi
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
Instructions:
- In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil and add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds and 1 teaspoon of coriander seeds. Saute until they turn fragrant.
- Add the finely chopped onions and saute until they turn golden brown.
- Add 1 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste and saute until the raw smell disappears.
- Add the finely chopped tomatoes, green chillies, 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of red chilli powder and salt to taste. Mix well and let it cook until the tomatoes turn soft and mushy.
- Add the cubed capsicum and saute for a minute.
- Add 1 teaspoon of kasuri methi and mix well.
- Add the cubed paneer and mix well. Cover and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala powder and mix well.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
