Cloud bread is a popular low-carb, gluten-free bread substitute that is light, fluffy, and easy to make. Here's a simple recipe for making cloud bread:
Ingredients:
- 3 large eggs, separated
- 3 tbsp cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tbsp honey or your preferred sweetener (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks, placing each in a separate bowl.
- In the bowl with the egg yolks, add the softened cream cheese and honey or sweetener (if using). Beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
- In the bowl with the egg whites, add the cream of tartar. Beat with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the egg yolk mixture into the egg whites, being careful not to deflate the egg whites.
- Spoon the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, forming 6-8 mounds.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and firm to the touch.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Cloud bread can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. It can also be frozen for up to 1 month.
